Solutions Architect

At Alton Valley, we’re looking for a hands-on Solutions Architect to help shape and deliver secure enterprise systems and transformation programmes across hybrid and on-premises environments.

You’ll work across the full solution lifecycle, helping to translate complex customer requirements into secure, resilient and deliverable technical solutions.

What you will be doing

• Designing secure enterprise architecture across cloud, hybrid infrastructure and on-premises environments.
• Translating business and operational requirements into clear solution designs and technical roadmaps.
• Producing architectural documentation, design principles, technical standards and governance materials.
• Supporting delivery and project teams from initial discovery through to implementation and transition.
• Leading technical discussions with clients and vendors, including in-depth product selection, while ensuring interoperability, security and resilience.
• Providing technical leadership and constructive challenge throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Designing and guiding API and systems integration across complex technology environments.
• Identifying architectural risks, dependencies and technical constraints before they affect delivery.
• Balancing governance and agility across complex transformation programmes.
• Ensuring solutions meet security, reliability, scalability and operational-support requirements.
• Helping clients make confident, informed decisions about their future technology strategy.

What we are looking for

• Experience working as a Technical Architect, Solutions Architect or in a comparable architecture role within enterprise or regulated environments.
• Strong experience designing and delivering secure, complex technology solutions.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise architecture, solution design, systems integration, cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure.
• The technical credibility to work effectively with engineers, delivery teams, project stakeholders, clients and external vendors.
• Experience turning complex or ambiguous requirements into structured, practical and deliverable solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Eligibility to obtain SC clearance, with current clearance considered highly desirable.
• Experience within defence, government, critical national infrastructure or another secure and highly regulated environment.
• Familiarity with Secure by Design, TOGAF or similar architectural principles and frameworks.
